What are you doing on New Years Eve? Braving the freezing cold and wet? Queuing for pubs and at the bar? Spending lots on an outfit, transport and inflated prices for drinks? How about another option that is easier on the pocket?

After many years of going out on New Years Eve with high expectations I stayed in one year, and haven’t bothered going out into the New Year mayhem since.

So what’s going to happen for those staying in? Normally I curl up on the sofa, have some nice food and drink and watch tv. Now I can bring Twitter into the equation too to make it even more fun.

So go on all you Twitter people around the world, let’s have a #twiNYE on the 31^st December 2009. We can celebrate all around the world at any time and follow everyone’s midnight on Twitter. Plus if you all make sure you use the hashtag #twiNYE you can watch it all unfold on www.twitterfall.com and other twitter applications. 

The definition of #twiNYE is linked up to the good old #twineup. So on New Years Eve (NYE) have whatever beverage you fancy handy, be on Twitter and just chat. But make sure you use the hashtag #twiNYE on each tweet so we can all hook up. And at your midnight, wherever you are, just say “Happy New Year #twiNYE” and we’ll all celebrate with you.
